JONESBORO, ARK. – Appalachian State volleyball fell to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in three sets in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Nov. 17 (17-25, 22-25, 22-25).
App State ended their season with a loss against Louisiana.
Emma Longley contributed 11 kills on the day;
Kara Spicer, ten.
Emma Reilly had 18 digs, the highest of either team in the match.
Ashlyn Brown had 33 assists.
In the first set, the two teams tied up the score six times before the Ragin' Cajuns pulled ahead.

Courtney Sullivan each contributed points for the Mountaineers before the first set ended in a 17-25 victory for Louisiana. Despite five kills from
Emma Longley in the second set, the Ragin' Cajuns pulled out the win with a score of 22-25.
An early 5-0 run from Louisiana put them ahead in the beginning of the third set.
Sydney Farthing kept the Apps alive with three straight service aces during a late 5-0 run from the Mountaineers, but the Ragin' Cajuns were still ahead 14-19. The Apps had another run, 4-0, to cut the lead by three at 20-22. Louisiana ultimately came out on top with a 22-25 score in the third set to seal the match.
The Mountaineers finished their season with an overall record of 12-20, a winning percentage of .375. Their 2017 season saw improvement from their 2016 overall record of 4-25 (.138 winning percentage). App State looks forward to the 2018 season.
