LAFAYETTE, LA. – Appalachian State volleyball lost a tough match to SBC opponent Louisiana on Friday, Oct. 20 (18-25, 22-25, 19-25).
App State had more kills and digs than Louisiana during the match, but it was not enough to overcome the Ragin' Cajuns. In the first set, App State answered back to Louisiana until the Ragin' Cajuns pulled ahead to capture the lead for the remainder of the set.
In the second set, the Mountaineers tied it up with a 4-0 run to bring the score to 19-19. A 4-0 run from Louisiana set them apart and allowed them to earn the victory.
App State was ready to play in the third and final set, starting off with a 5-0 run early on to bring the score up 7-2. The Mountaineers held onto the lead until Louisiana came back at 13-13. Despite kills from

Jenna Talbert late in the set, Louisiana won 25-19 to seal the overall victory.
Appalachian State will continue their Sun Belt play Saturday, Oct. 21 in Monroe, Louisiana against the Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. ET.
