Football at UL Lafayette: Postgame Notes
APPALACHIAN STATE 35, UL LAFAYETTE 16
NOVEMBER 22, 2014 • LAFAYETTE, LA. (CAJUN FIELD)
POSTGAME NOTES

Team
• Appalachian State (6-5, 5-2 Sun Belt) won its fifth-consecutive game and snapped UL Lafayette's (7-4, 6-1 Sun Belt) six-game winning streak.

• With the win, Appalachian State is guaranteed to finish at .500 or better in its first NCAA Division I FBS season and to finish above .500 in its first Sun Belt Conference campaign.

• In consecutive weeks, Appalachian State has beaten both of last season's Sun Belt co-champions on the road (Arkansas State and UL Lafayette).

• Appalachian State is the first team since Florida International in 2010 to beat Arkansas State and UL Lafayette in back-to-back games. FIU's offensive coordinator that season was current Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield. Since FIU accomplished the feat, the last five teams that have played Arkansas State and UL Lafayette in back-to-back games have lost both games.

• Appalachian State's five-game winning streak is its longest since it won the first eight games of the 2010 season.

• The win was Appalachian State's first-ever in the state of Louisiana (1-6).

• Appalachian State moved to 2-10 all-time when playing west of the Mississippi River. The program's first win in a game played west of the Mississippi was last Saturday's 37-32 victory at Arkansas State.

Individual
• Sophomore Marcus Cox rushed for 156 yards on 36 carries (4.2 avg.), marking the fifth time in the last six games, seventh time in 11 games this season and 13th time in 23 career games that he has surpassed the 100 rushing yards.

• Junior Bobo Beathard's 33-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter was Appalachian State's first punt-return touchdown since Dexter Jackson had two (86 and 68 yards) at Gardner-Webb on Sept. 23, 2006.
