Team
• With its second-straight victory, Appalachian State moved to 3-5 overall and evened its Sun Belt Conference record at 2-2.
• Georgia State fell to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in Sun Belt play.
• The victory was Appalachian State's first-ever home win in Sun Belt Conference play.
• The victory was Appalachian State's first-ever home win over an NCAA Division FBS opponent.
• With 567 yards of total offense, Appalachian State surpassed 500 total yards for the third-straight game (637 on Oct. 11 vs. Liberty, 551 on Oct. 18 vs. Troy).
• Marcus Cox (250 yards) and Ricky Fergerson (123 yards) gave Appalachian State two 100-yard rushers for the third-straight game. Cox (111) and Terrence Upshaw (111) both surpassed 100 yards on Oct. 11 against Liberty and Cox (123) and Fergerson (109) accomplished the feat on Oct. 18 at Troy.
• The shutout was Appalachian State's second of the season (66-0 vs. Campbell on Sept. 6), marking the first time since 1998 that it has recorded two shutouts in a season (51-0 vs. VMI on Nov. 7 and 19-0 vs. Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 14).
Individual
• Appalachian State sophomore running back Marcus Cox set a career high with 250 rushing yards (prev.: 215 vs. Western Carolina on Nov. 23, 2013). Cox's 246 yards came on 29 carries (8.6 avg.).
• Cox also matched a season high with three touchdown runs (1, 6 and 6 yards).
• Over the past two games (including Appalachian State's 53-14 win at Troy on Oct. 18), Cox has rushed for 373 yards on 45 carries (8.3 avg.) and six touchdowns.
• Appalachian State junior running back Rickey Fergerson also set a career high with 123 rushing yards (prev. 109 at Troy on Oct. 18). Fergerson's 123 yards came on 14 carries (8.8 avg.).
• With an interception and a fumble recovery, Appalachian State sophomore linebacker John Law had two takeaways for the second time in his career (Law had two interceptions and a fumble recovery on Sept. 21, 2013 at Elon).
