Head Coach Matt Viator - "I can't hardly put it into words, I told the guys before the game that this a game of opportunities and playing against a fantastic team like this is a great opportunity for our team."

"I don't know how to stop them, they spread you out five wide and the thing about Armanti is he's such a good passer so you spread your linebackers out to defend the pass and he takes off on you."

"I think both teams had the answers, but this was one of those games where the team that had the ball last was going to win the game and that's what happened."

"I told Josh (Lewis) to show me some teeth, he had a rough start with the extra point and missing the field goal, but he came through when we needed him and won the game for us."

Todd Pendland - "Great game, we had a whole lot of guys step up and make plays for us. The offensive line did a great job opening up holes and allowing us to make the plays."

"I'm not surprised at all, I knew we had the ability to come out here and beat a great team."

Corday Clark -- "We knew all week that if we came out and played smart and stuck to the game plan that we could hang with these guys." They're a great team that's won three championships but we just kept fighting and came away with the win."

Appalachian State

Ed Gainey - "It never feels good to lose like this especially at home, they were just the better team today. We had several miscues, several missed opportunities and they ended up taking the win."

"Everything that went wrong defensively was mental, a lot of people out there weren't focused today including me. When you don't come focused that's what happens."

Devon Moore - "I think it's a good thing having a week off, it gives us some time to get back on the practice field and get refocused and hopefully get some of these kinks ironed out."

"It was almost like a playoff game with the intensity and the atmosphere, in the long run I think it is only going to help our football team."

 "You can't help but be disappointed in the way we played defensively." "If you look at your stats the thing that hurt was the third downs, they converted 8/14 on third down and 2/2 on fourth down.  It is hard to win when you let them convert like that."

"They're a great football team with a great tradition that's been in the playoffs many times and they came to fight today."

"I thought Armanti played well today. I felt like he wasn't very sharp in the first quarter but after that he got settled down and it looked like he was back to his old self."

"I thought a big turning point was when we got the interception and we didn't get any points. We get the ball on the 35 yard line and we end up taking a big loss on third down that knocks us out of field goal range. That was a point in the game where we failed to capitalize."

"We've played two pretty good football teams, its not like we've lost to inferior teams at all." I think the problems that we have are correctable, some of it falls on us as a staff and some of it falls on the players."

"I feel like we're in the same boat we were in in 2005." We lost to LSU and we lost to Kansas and we lost to Furman. We turned it around and won the conference and went into the playoffs so there's a lot of football left for us to get back on track."

"You talk about focus, you hear that term thrown around a lot and if it's a reality it's a good thing, if it's just something you say then its nothing. So we go back Monday and we start focusing on the right things."

Armanti Edwards - "I never felt rusty, I just had to get in rhythm with the passing game." In the second quarter, I felt like I kept them on their toes with the passing and the running game."

"It's hard because we're trying to gain momentum and they turn around and score right back so that made it difficult to get things going."

"The foot is a little sore but its no problem."

"I still think we're 0-0 we haven't lost a conference game yet, we lost at home but our focus is always on winning the SoCon and we're still just fine as far as that goes."
