Sarah Bowman joined the App State Sports Medicine Staff in May 2022 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Basketball and Tennis programs.
 
A native of Burlington, N.C., Bowman arrives in the High Country after year-long stints at Johns Hopkins University as a Resident Athletic Trainer working with their Football, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Lacrosse programs, and Radford University working as an Athletic Trainer with their Softball program.   
 
Bowman received her Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in 2018 in Sport Management with a minor in Sports Science. As an athletic training graduate student at Shenandoah University in 2019-2020, Bowman completed clinical rotations with NC State’s Football program and their 2020 ACC Champion Women’s Basketball program.
 
Bowman is a BOC certified Athletic Trainer, NCBATE licensed Athletic Trainer, member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the College Athletic Trainers Society. She holds certifications in M1 Graston Technique, Functional Movement Systems Level 1, and has completed Safe Space Ally training through NATA.
  
Bowman enjoys spending her free time exploring areas in and around Boone with her rescue dog, Samson.
