Biography

2025: Made 39 appearances and 36 starts in her first year with the Mountaineers … Tallied 24 hits in 95 at-bats and scored 22 runs … Recorded career bests in batting average (.253), on-base percentage (.388), slugging percentage (.347), total bases (33) and walks (18) … Smoked seven extra-base hits … Carried the third-best on-base percentage in 2025, owning a .388 mark … Drove home 11 runs, a career high … Hit her first career home run - a walk-off grand slam - against Marshall on April 5 … Was stellar behind the dish defensively as she committed just one error on 157 chances … Threw out six would-be base stealers in 2025 … Hit two doubles in the series finale at Georgia State to secure the series sweep … Recorded the first three-hit game of her career on April 9 at Gardner-Webb … Posted four multi-hit games in her first season in the Black and Gold 

PRIOR TO APP STATE (BOWLING GREEN - 2023-24)
Over two seasons at Bowling Green, Henkel saw action in 65 games and made 46 starts. She racked up 26 hits for the Falcons, including a two-hit, two-RBI game against Northern Illinois last April. Her versatility as both a catcher and infielder was crucial for BGSU in 2024 as she made 20 starts at catcher and nine at first base while posting a .951 fielding percentage. She was an on-base machine for the Falcons in 2024 a she drew 14 walks, the third-most on the team, leading to a .348 on-base percentage. Academically, Henkel was an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete in 2023 and was named Academic All-MAC in 2024. 

HIGH SCHOOL
Henkel starred for four years at Dublin Coffman High School. In 2022, she batted .487, tallying 19 hits in 39 at-bats, while also posting a .533 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. She was also a key member of her travel team, Ohio Outlaws Premier, as she hit .400. Henkel was the Valedictorian of her senior class and graduated Summa cum Laude. She has earned numerous awards, including the Golden Shamrock award and the Celebration of Excellence award, while also being a Borlaug Scholar award winner. She is the daughter of Chuck and Deana Henkel and has two older brothers.
