A right-handed pitcher from Virginia, King - better known as Slim - joins App State after an illustrious career both on the softball field and the basketball court at Brunswick Academy. She is a two-time softball state champion, a two-time Virginia State Player of the Year, a two-time conference player of the year, a basketball state champion, a first-team all-state basketball player and a volleyball state champion. King dominated at Bruswick in the circle, posting a 0.77 ERA in her four-year career with a 31-3 record and 463 strikeouts. King struck out 97 hitters in just 46.2 innings in her senior season and allowed just two earned runs across nine appearances in her final high school season. En route to her second consecutive state championship in 2023-24, King was a first-team all-conference player, a first-team all-state player and the conference's Player of the Year. On the hardwood, King is a 1,000-point scorer and a first-team all-state player.
