Biography

2026: Played and started in all but one game in 2026 ... Batted .234 with 30 hits in 128 at-bats ... Finished second on the team in home runs with 12 ... Her 12 home runs made her one of nine Mountaineers to hit 12 or more home runs in a season in program history ... It also ranked tied 10th in the Sun Belt ... Finished the year with 35 RBIs, the fourth-most on the team ... Hit at least one home run against all but three Sun Belt teams ... Hit her first career home run against George Washington on Feb. 7 at the UNCW Tournament ... Clubbed two home runs, one in the opener and the other in the series finale, against Southern Miss in App State's Sun Belt home opener ... Hit a homer against Penn State at the Tennessee Invitational on Feb. 28 ... Recorded 11 games with two or more RBIs in her sophomore season ... Drove in a career-best four runs against Georgia State on March 28 ... Totaled six RBIs for the weekend (March 27-29) against the Panthers ... Prior to App State (Florida Atlantic – 2025)
Ching joins the Mountaineers after spending her freshman season at Florida Atlantic, where she appeared in six games for the Owls. In her lone season at Florida Atlantic, Ching was a part of a regular-season champion team and made an appearance in the Gainesville Regional. Ching took six at-bats in 2025 for the Owls and tallied two hits and five RBIs. Her best game of her freshman season came against Memphis on April 25, which saw her go 2-2 at the plate with four RBIs, her first career double and a run scored. She also recorded an RBI against Morehead State on March 2. Ching made her first career start against Clemson at the Paradise Classic at first base and recorded two putouts on two chances. Ching finished the season with zero errors on six attempts in her freshman season.  
 
HIGH SCHOOL
A native of Windermere, Fla., Ching attended Windermere High School and was a four-year standout on the prep circuit. She was a part of 67 wins across her final three seasons and helped guide her team to a top 15 ranking in the state of Florida in both 2023 and 2024. Over her final two seasons at Windermere, Ching batted .438 with 20 home runs, 58 RBIs, 81 hits and 15 doubles. Her nine home runs in her senior season ranked 26th in the state of Florida that season. Heading into the 2024 season, Ching was named a top 10 power hitter among high school players in Florida by Sports Illustrated. She is Windermere’s all-time home run leader and was four times named all-conference in her career. Additionally, Ching was named all-state in her career. Academically, Ching was an AP scholar in high school.
