Biography

2021: Started in 45 of 46 games at shortstop for the Mountaineers… Ended the season with a .197 batting average over 122 bats, including three doubles and a home run… Posted nine RBIs and 17 runs scored with a .246 slugging percentage… Was 7-for-9 in stolen bases… Finished second the team with 20 walks and a .315 on base percentage… Had 66 putouts and 115 assists at shortstop with a .943 fielding percentage… Had a season-high two hits in the win over Georgia Southern (4/17)… Scored a season-high two runs at ETSU (3/9) and had a season-high two RBIs in the win over N.C. Central (3/7).

2020: Started in every game at shortstop for the Mountaineers… Finished the shortened season with a .257 batting average with 18 hits and seven RBI… T-2nd on the team in runs scored with 11… Had two doubles and posted a .286 slugging percentage and .333 on base percentage… Finished with three stolen bases on four attempts… Had a season-high three hits and two RBIs against South Alabama on March 6… Scored a season-high two runs against South Alabama on March 7… Finished the series against South Alabama with a season-high three putouts (March 8)... Posted five assists against Oakland (Feb. 29).... Season was cut short due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

2019: Started at short stop in all 56 games for the Mountaineers this season ... in 155 at bats, she put together 31 hits scoring 29 runs with six doubles and one home run on the year ... led the team with 13 sac hits on the year with two of them coming at Georgia State on March 24 tying a single-game record ... against Georgia Southern on March 9 she managed a season high 3 hits helping lead the Mountaineers to a 6-5 win over the Eagles. 

Previous School: While at Butler Community College for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Kifer earned first team all-KJCAA as a third baseman during her sophomore year and second team all-KJCAA as a catcher during her freshman year.

High School: She lettered in three sports as a four-year student-athlete in basketball, volleyball and softball. As a senior, she was named first-team all-conference on the basketball and volleyball teams. As a junior, she earned first-team all-conference for basketball and second-team all-conference for volleyball. Kifer earned second-team all-conference on the softball team for all four years.

Personal: Daughter of Matt and Barbie Kifer ... sister of Courtney and Cameron ... plans to major in business to pursue a career in sports management.
