2024: Started all 51 games in her lone season at App State ... Finished second on the team in batting average (.344), OPS (1.030), home runs (11) and slugging percentage (.631) ... Drove in 45 runs in 2024, the third-most in a single season in program history ... Plated five RBIs against Western Carolina on April 23 ... Recorded at least one RBI in 28 games ... Tallied 23 extra-base hits and 99 total bases ... Named second team All-Sun Belt ... Threw out five would-be base-stealers ... Did not commit an error behind the plate. 

Prior to App State
Darnell comes to App State after spending four years at USC Upstate where she had one of the best careers in that program's history. She was a four-year starter for the Spartans, starting in 178 of the 179 games she appeared in. The graduate student compiled an impressive slash line of .325/.390/.572 during her four years, while also recording 32 home runs, 147 RBI and 28 doubles as a Spartan. Darnell's best season came in 2022, her junior season, which saw her set career-highs in hits, home runs, RBI and slugging percentage. 

The catcher also garnered a plethora of awards while at USC Upstate. She was the 2022 Big South Player of the Year, a 3x Big South All-Conference First-Team member, a 4x Big South Player of the Week, a 2x NFCA Top Performer in 2022, a 2022 NFCA DI Southeast All-Region Third Team member, a 2021 Big South All-Tournament Team member, a 2021 Big South All-Freshman Team member and was a 4x Big South Freshman of the Week. 

Darnell helped lead the Spartans to a winning record in all four seasons while also going three games deep into the Big South Tournament in every season except 2020, when the season was cut short due to COVID-19.
