Named to the NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team on May 14, becoming the third Mountaineer to receive the honor twice in their career (Kayt Houston and Allie Cashion) ... PRIOR TO APP STATE (CAMPBELL - 2023-24)Â
Spending the previous two years at Campbell University, McClain comes to App State with a wealth of experience, playing over 100 games with the Camels. She was a part of two conference championship teams and made an appearance in the NCAA Regionals in 2023, where she picked up five hits in three games. She was a key contributor her freshman year at Campbell, batting .341 with 58 hits and 17 extra-base hits. She was a Big South Freshman of the Week in 2023 and was selected to the 2023 Big South All-Freshman Team.Â
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year standout at Providence Grove High School, McClain helped guide her team to a 24-1 record her senior year and a top-15 ranking in the state of North Carolina. She batted .565 for her career, compiling 104 hits in 222 at-bats, while also being an extra-base machine as she tallied 25 doubles, 12 triples and 20 homers. Her senior year saw her garner Player of the Year honors as she stroked 40 hits - 22 of them being extra-base hits - while hitting .597. She posted a career OPS of 1.775 and slugged 1.157 at Providence Grove.
