Boone, N.C. – App State Tennis dropped its Senior Day regular-season finale to 66th-ranked Old Dominion 6-1 on Saturday.
The Mountaineers will head to Rome, Ga., for the Sun Belt Tournament next week.
Taya Powell picked up the lone win for App State (12-9, 6-5 SBC) after defeating Old Dominion's Allison Isaacs 6-1, 7-6 [7-3] at No. 3 singles for the seventh singles win of her freshman season.
Savannah Dada-Mascoll's outstanding 16-match winning streak came to an end after a back-and-forth match that went the distance with No. 118-ranked Sofia Johnson at the top singles position.
ODU (14-5, 10-0 SBC), which had clinched the Sun Belt regular-season title before Saturday's match, claimed two out of three wins in doubles play while securing wins in five of the six singles matches to claim victory.
UP NEXT
App State will start Sun Belt Tournament play on Thursday, April 25. The seventh-seeded Mountaineers will face the 10th-seeded James Madison in the second round of the tournament. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start time.
