UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Appalachian State men's soccer team took a 4-0 loss to No. 19 Penn State Friday night. With the win, Penn State moves to 9-2-3. The Mountaineers fall to 9-4-1.
The Nittany Lions used a goal in the first half and three in the second to take the win, scoring in the 34

th and 89
th minute. Liam Butts had the game-winner in the first half, followed by Joshua Dabora, Aaron Molloy and Daniel Gonzalez goals in the second half.
Mayola Kinyua led the Mountaineers in shots with two,
Myson Darden,
Kelan Swales and
Austin Hill also added a shot. Kinyua had the Apps' best chance in the first half, but missed just over the cross bar. Swales had a solid attempt in the second half that was blocked by a Penn State defender.
In goal, redshirt freshman
Jacob Madden made four saves on the night for App State. Penn State's goalkeeper, Kris Shakes, moves to 9-2-3 on the year.
The Mountaineers return to the pitch on Tuesday, making the trip to Chapel Hill for a 7 p.m. match against No. 21 North Carolina.
