Spring Tour Begins April 12, Golf Tourney May 20

BOONE, N.C. — Spots are still available for the 2016 Appalachian State Athletics Spring Tour presented by the Yosef Club, which begins on Tuesday in Charlotte, and the Appalachian State Athletics Golf Tournament, which is set for Friday, May 20.

Next week's Spring Tour makes stops in Charlotte (Tuesday, April 12), Raleigh (Wednesday, April 13) and Greensboro (Thursday, April 14).

The Athletics Golf Tournament is set for Friday, May 20 at Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir.

APPALACHIAN STATE ATHLETICS SPRING TOUR PRESENTED BY THE YOSEF CLUB
The 2016 Appalachian State Athletics Spring Tour presented by the Yosef Club will make three stops across North Carolina:

• Tuesday, April 12 — Charlotte (NASCAR Hall of Fame) — ONLINE REGISTRATION
• Wednesday, April 13 — Raleigh (Marriott Crabtree Valley Hotel) — ONLINE REGISTRATION
• Thursday, April 14 — Greensboro (Grandover Resort and Conference Center) — ONLINE REGISTRATION

Featured attendees at each stop include director of athletics Doug Gillin, football head coach Scott Satterfield, men's basketball head coach Jim Fox and women's basketball head coach Angel Elderkin, along with other members of the Appalachian State athletics and alumni association staffs.

Tickets cost just $25 for adults, $15 for young alumni (those who have graduated from Appalachian in the past five years) and $10 for youth (ages 12 and under). The cost of admission includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and two drink tickets.

Each event begins at 6 p.m.

Registration is available online at the links above or by phone at (828) 262-3108. Space is limited for one of Appalachian State athletics' most popular events of the year, so fans are encouraged to register early.

APPALACHIAN STATE ATHLETICS GOLF TOURNAMENT
The inaugural Appalachian State Athletics Golf Tournament is set for Friday, May 20 at Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir.

The tournament features teams of five that will be paired with a member of the Appalachian athletics staff in a captain's choice format. Athletics staff members participating in the event include Gillin, Satterfield, Fox, Elderkin, wrestling head coach JohnMark Bentley and many more coaches and administrators. Coaches and staff members will be assigned to teams during a Thursday night social at Cedar Rock.

Cost — which includes golf, the Thursday night reception, an Appalachian State polo and gameday hat and post-round meal and awards  — is just $350 per person ($1,750 per team of five). Prizes will be awarded for the lowest team scores, closest to the pin and longest drive.
