Directions to Don Kennedy Trails
Southbound on 321: Make a left onto Shadowline Drive. Go straight through traffic light as Shadowline becomes Dale Street. Follow signs to UREC fields through the gate. There is parking at the bottom of the hill and the trails are located on the right.

Northbound on 321: Make a right onto Shadowline Drive. Go straight through traffic light as Shadowline becomes Dale Street. Follow signs to UREC fields through the gate. There is parking at the bottom of the hill and the trails are located on the right.

 

Don Kennedy Trail Information

Boone, N.C. and the High Country offer some of the best and widest variety of training terrain on the East Coast. The High Country is an integral part in numerous collegiate teams' training and development programs, with teams coming from all over the country to compete and train.

The Don Kennedy trails offer more than four miles of trails and courses sitting along the New River. The course that both the ASU men and women's cross country teams call home was named after Appalachian standout Don Kennedy.

2010 Southern Conference Championships

For the first time since 2000, Appalachian State will host the Southern Conference Cross Country Championships. The conference meet will take place Saturday, October 30 at 10 a.m. The Apps will welcome its 11 conference foes to its home course. The last time the SoCon meet was held in Boone, the men captured the conference title, while the women's squad earned a second-place finish.
