BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State Athletics Alumni are invited to return to Boone and take part in the All-Sport Alumni Weekend from April 27-29.
The weekend will include the
All-Sport Alumni Tailgate on Saturday, April 28, at 4 p.m. inside Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium, where App State's baseball team will be playing Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference series.
The Mountaineers have home baseball games against the Trojans that weekend at 6 p.m. (Friday's series opener), at 3 p.m. (Saturday, on the day of the tailgate) and 1 p.m. (Sunday).
Appalachian State's men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the Mountaineer Outdoor Meet on that Friday and Saturday (starting at 9 a.m.) in Kidd Brewer Stadium. It will be the last home meet for App State Director of Track & Field and Cross Country
John Weaver, who plans to retire after the 2017-18 season to cap a 47-year coaching career in which he's already won 43 conference coach of the year awards, and he is scheduled to throw out the first pitch before the Sunday baseball game.
