BOONE, N.C. — Because of inclement weather, tonight's baseball game between Appalachian State and South Carolina in Charlotte has been canceled.
The Mountaineers (4-6) were scheduled to face the Gamecocks (7-5) at BB&T Ballpark to begin the 2018 Sunbelt Rentals Collegiate Baseball Series. App State will now play Gardner-Webb at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte instead of Boone on April 25 at 6:05 p.m.
Fans with tickets from the App State-South Carolina game can exchange them for a ticket of equal value to the App State-Gardner-Webb game in Charlotte. For additional information and questions, please contact the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office at
704-274-8282 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
Discussions have begun for a possible makeup date between App State and South Carolina for later this season. If scheduled, that game would not be played in Charlotte.
App State returns to action Wednesday, as a home game against UNC Asheville has been moved to Asheville because of weather projections for Boone. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m., and UNC Asheville will now play in Boone on March 21 at 5 p.m.
