NEW ORLEANS, La. – Senior
Chelsey Hargrave (McLeansville, N.C./Williams) and junior
Imani Chapman (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) were named Second Team All-Sun Belt in women's track & field.
Hargrave finished second in the long jump at the Sun Belt Championships with a leap of 19-3.25. On the season, she recorded two first place finishes in the event, including a PR distance of 19-10.25 at the Thundering Herd Invitational. Her mark sits fourth on the all-time list.
In the triple jump, Hargrave recorded a third-place finish with a mark of 40-9.50 at the Sun Belt Championships. The distance marked a season-best for her in the event.
Chapman crossed the finish line second at the Sun Belt Championships in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.49 seconds. Her time represented a new PR and was also the third fastest time in the event in program history.
App State finished sixth at the Sun Belt Championships and will begin the outdoor season at the 49er Classic on March 15.
