App State has won three straight matches for the second time this season while it reaches 10 wins for a fifth consecutive year.
The Mountaineers captured two doubles wins before claiming the three singles contests they needed to clinch the triumph.
Milo Bargeron and
Scott Webster got things started with a convincing 6-1 victory over Gavin Stewart and Noah Nawabi for their fifth straight win and move to 10-3 on the season. Since partnering up last season, the pair is 19-6 over 25 matches. Clinching the doubles point and giving App a 1-0 edge was
Alex Pavkovich and
Ben Webster, who defeated their counterparts, Matthew Henson and Will Graham, 6-1. Pavkovich and Ben are a solid 9-5 on the season.
Moving into singles, App State continued the momentum where all three singles wins went straight sets. Ben moved to 9-6 on the year when he toppled Nawabi, 6-2, 6-0, followed by
Alex Brea's first singles victory of the season over Roy Hobson in sweeping fashion, 6-0, 6-4. Scott sealed the deal with a 6-4, 6-2, victory over Henson, handing the senior his seventh win in a row and an 11-3 record on the year.
App State will have a week off before it faces Coastal Carolina on Sunday, March 25 at home in its first Sun Belt match of the season. First serve is at 2 p.m.
