LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Appalachian State women's track & field team will compete on one more meet before the Sun Belt Championships, taking part in the VMI Winter Relays on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, running events will begin at noon with field events starting at 2 p.m., while Saturday's events will begin at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State last weekend, the Mountaineers won three events and also has two others finish second.
Chelsey Hargrave was named Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the meet after winning the long jump with a mark of 19-4.75.
Hana Ratcliffe (10:14.75) and
LaBria King (7.60) won the 3,000-meter run and 60-meter dash, respectively.
Hunter Welborn posted a second place finish in the high jump, clearing 5-3.00, while
Imani Chapman crossed second in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.72 seconds.
AMONG THE BEST IN THE SUN BELT
With just one more meet before the Sun Belt championships, App State ranks among the top of the conference in multiple events. Overall, the Apps have 11 rankings in the top-five in seven different events.
