JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- After winning their first three scored meets of the season, the Appalachian State men's track & field team will look to continue its streak at the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State on Friday and Saturday. Friday's running events are slated for a 10:30 a.m. start with field events beginning at noon. On Saturday, running events will commence at 9 a.m. with field events set for a 10 a.m. start.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mountaineers claimed the team title at the Thundering Herd Invitational, finishing with 134.5 points. In all, App State won four titles and saw 17 top-five finishes in the meet.
SUN BELT TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ryan Hastings was tabbed as Sun Belt Track Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Thundering Herd Invitational. Hastings won the 800-meter run in a PR time of 1:50.48. His time also set a facility record, meet record and ranks as the second fastest 800-meter run time in school history. The mark currently sits 34th in the nation and is the top time in the Sun Belt.
