Sydnor Posting Career Numbers with Hørsholm 79ers

BOONE, N.C. - After turning in a solid first year with the Hørsholm 79ers of the Dame Ligaen, former Mountaineer standout Maryah Sydnor is having an even better year with her squad in Denmark.

The 79ers made no mistake in giving Sydnor a one-year extension, as she is doing it all for the 79ers. Sydnor is averaging a double-double with 17.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, which ranks fifth and third, respectively, in the league. Also, her 2.3 assists per game is 17th, and her team-high plus-13.6 is second, while the 23.6 PER (Player Efficiency Rating) that she boasts is the fourth highest PER across the league.

Sydnor has scored in double figures in 10 out of 12 contests with six, 20-point outings including a season-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field against the league's second-best team in the Virum Vipers. She has grabbed at least 10 off the glass in eight games with a season-best 15. Her best plus/minus performance was a plus-33 in a 26-point win, and her most efficient performance was 32 thanks to 22 points and 13 boards.

More importantly, Sydnor has been a critical cog in the 79ers' hot 11-1 start in the first 12 games of the season. Hørsholm is six points ahead of the second-place team, Virum at 8-3. Last season, Sydnor helped the 79ers to a Dame Ligaen finals appearance.

The Radford, Va., native went down in App history as one of the top players of all-time, as she amassed 1,821 points over her college career, ranking third in the App State record books for total career points. She also ranks among App's top-ten lists in free throws (second), field goals (fourth), rebounds (fifth) and steals (tied for seventh).
