About the Mountaineers

Last Time Out
Appalachian fell to a Louisiana team that hit a season-high 14 3-pointers and shot 53.8 percent (14-26) from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers went into the final period with a 43-41 lead but was outscored by 18 in the final frame. Nicola Mathews tied a team high with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and a pair of 3-pointers. Bayley Plummer registered her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

What to Watch for
•  Appalachian has been outscored 58-30 in three games during the fourth quarter, the lowest margin of any period for the Apps. App State has won or tied seven of 12 quarters through three conference games. See if the Mountaineers can finish in the fourth frame if they hold the lead or are tied.
•  Mathews is shooting 56 percent (14-of-26) from 3-point range on the road while shooting only 14.3 percent (3-of-21) from beyond the arc at home. Expect the sophomore point guard to continue her hot shooting away from home.
•  Tierra Wilson scored five points with six turnovers and only one assist against Louisiana. The freshman has bounced back this season as she's averaging 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game to just seven turnovers in five games. Expect the point guard to have a bounce-back performance.
• ULM is 0-10 with its average pace at 71.1 in those losses, while the Warhawks have a pace of 57.6 in their four victories. See if can dictate the tempo on Saturday.
• Opponents are turning the ball just 14.7 times per game against ULM. Expect Appalachian to protect the ball after committing 24 miscues, which led to 23 points for UL on Thursday.

• Cortez ranks third in the conference in scoring, third in 3-pointers made and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage

• The Warhawks are averaging 66.8 ppg at home this season (57.7 overall)
