BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State's wrestling team will host its final Southern Conference home dual meet of the 2017-18 season when VMI visits Varsity Gym on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Members of the University's ROTC program will be in attendance. They will present the colors before a live national anthem is performed, and some members will participate in a "Survival of the Fittest" competition during the halfway-point break that will also include recognition of youth wrestlers.
Overall, the Mountaineers have two home dual meets left on their schedule, as they face Duke in Boone on Feb. 8.
App State remained in contention for a third straight SoCon regular season championship when it won 18-12 at Campbell last week to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the league. Victories by

Randall Diabe pushed Appalachian ahead 12-3,
Codi Russell defeated a 25th-ranked opponent with a sudden-victory takedown for a 15-9 lead and
