BOONE, N.C. — The annual Appalachian Open wrestling tournament will be held in Varsity Gym on Saturday, with competition scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and continue for most of the day.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for youth. Doors open for admission at 8 a.m., and fans attending the tournament can gain reentry (following a lunch break, etc.) by showing a valid ticket stub.
More than 150 wrestlers from a combined 16 schools are entered, as 17 members of the current App State team will wrestle in attached and unattached capacities.

Denzel Dejournette, a 2017 All-American, is listed as an unrostered entry in the heavyweight division.
The other schools set to be represented are Ohio, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Campbell, Virginia, West Virginia, VMI, Arizona State, NC State, Duke, Chattanooga, Gardner-Webb, Buffalo, Navy and UNC-Pembroke.
On-campus parking will be available in the Rivers Street Deck across the street from Varsity Gym as well as the Peacock and Duncan Hall lots that are adjacent to Varsity Gym, off the same side of Rivers Street.
Tournament brackets will be available at FloWrestling throughout the day.
The Mountaineers will resume their SoCon schedule against VMI in Boone on Jan. 31, visit Chattanooga on Feb. 4 and return to Varsity Gym for a Feb. 8 matchup with Duke.
