HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Appalachian State men's track & field team will aim to keep their momentum going at the Thundering Herd Invitiational, hosted by Marshall on Friday and Saturday. Field events on Friday begin at 5 p.m. with running events starting at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, field events begin at 10 a.m. with running events starting at noon.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
In all, there will be nine men's teams competing at the event: Morehead State, Xavier, Winthrop, Charlotte, Wofford, Appalachian State, Saint Louis, Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mountaineers put on a strong performance inside the Holmes Center last weekend, winning the Appalachian Open. In all, the Black and Gold finished first in six events and had a total of 11 top-three finishes.
SUN BELT FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jordan Johnson was tabbed as Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week after his record breaking performance at the Appalachian Open. Johnson broke a 31-year old school record in the long jump, posting a mark of 25-2.00, which bettered the previous distance of 25-1.25 set by Michael Hanks in 1987.
NATIONAL RANKS
Overall, the Mountaineers have four athletes ranked in the top-75 nationally across three events.

The Mountaineers are set to compete in the ETSU Invitational next weekend on February 2 and 3.
