2017 FALL SCHEDULE
TOURNAMENT DRAWS
BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis begins the 2017-18 season this weekend with the Elon Invitational.
App will play in five fall tournaments before the spring slate, while the Mountaineers will head into head coach
Blake Mosley's second season with six of nine student-athletes back from last season and four of the five top wins leaders in
Taylor Bygrave,
Melissa Machado,
Heidi Swope and
Rebecca Morse.
The trio of Bygrave, Swope, and Morse turned in career highs in singles wins with nine, seven and six, respectively. Also, coach Mosley signed a freshmen class of four student-athletes that are expected to contribute right away.
App State will join Coastal Carolina, Longwood, ETSU, NC Central, UNCW, UNCGW and Emory in the two-day event. The invitational will be made up of four singles brackets (Maroon, Gold, Powell, Phoenix) and four doubles brackets (Maroon Doubles, Gold Doubles, Powell Doubles, Phoenix Doubles).
"We've been working very hard and competing very well in practice," Mosley stated. "It's time to take the show on the road and see how we compete against other programs. We have a very competitive fall schedule that should help prepare us for the spring slate."
