About the Mountaineers

Felix Kollmannthaler,
Zeiko Harris and
Austin Hill all tallying their first career-goals.
The three goals scored by App is the most since last season's win against USC Upstate and the most on the road since 2015. Appalachian finished second in the tournament with
Jeremy Tshongo, Hill and Harris landing on the All-Tournament team.
Avila Named Co-Offensive Player of the Week
After assisting on two of the Apps' three scores,
Daniel Avila was named the Sun Belt's Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career. The junior's two helpers were a career high, and his two points are tied for the team lead.
Scouting Central Arkansas (0-2)
Central Arkansas fell in both of its first two matches with the most recent contest coming against Incarnate Word, 2-1. The Bears are led by fourth-heard head coach Ross Duncan, who has turned his squad into a formidable foe by quadrupling their win total in his first season. Niklas Brodacki leads the team with their lone goal of the season, while three different goalkeepers have seen time on the net. Rasmus Jonsson leads the way playing 138 minutes through two games.
Scouting LIU Brooklyn (0-2)
The Blackbirds are off to a slow start after a pair of losses to Western Michigan (3-2) and Detroit Mercy (1-0), respectively. LIU is coached by former App men's soccer coach, TJ Kostecky, who coached at App in 1998. Long Island Brooklyn's offense has only mustered up two shots on goal thus far, but both turned into goals with Rasmus Hansen and Romario Guscott tallying the Redbirds' only score. Cole Palmer has played 143 of 180 minutes at goalkeeper with two starts.
