About the Mountaineers
Appalachian fell in its most previous outing last Sunday against Campbell, 1-0, after getting just one shot on target. The offense has yet to breakout with zero goals in the first two games but has outshot their opponent, 5-3, in shots on goal and shots overall, 23-21. The Mountaineers have played some solid defense allowing just a goal in the first two contests, which is tied for the fewest in the Sun Belt through two games.

Scouting Ball State (1-2)
The Cardinals are coming off back-to-back losses to then-No. 18 Notre Dame and most recently, Xavier, in a 1-0 setback. BSU went 14-3-3 last season, and its 9-1-1 led to a Mid-American Conference regular-season championship. Seventh-year head coach Craig Roberts has helped lead BSU to 28 wins over the past two seasons for the hosts. Sam Kambol's one goal leads the team, while Alyssa Heintschel has been the primary keeper with 0.52 goals against average and eight saves.
