Men's Basketball Announces the Signing of Adrian Delph

BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State men's basketball head coach Jim Fox has announced the signing of Adrian Delph (Kings Mountain, N.C./Kings Mountain) on Wednesday.

As a junior at Kings Mountain High School in 2016-17, Delph averaged 20.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals. He was named Gaston Gazette All-Area First Team, Charlotte Observer All-Area Third Team, NCBCA All-District 10 First Team and South Mountain Athletic Conference First Team.

Delph elevated his game last season against stiff competition, posting strong outings against state tournament semifinalist Butler High School. In two games, he averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in those games.

Delph will join the Mountaineers for the 2018-19 season and will aim to make an immediate impact. He can play either guard position and will bring a strong defensive skillset.

Head Coach Jim Fox

We are thrilled to welcome Adrian and his family to the Appalachian Family. Adrian is someone who fits our system perfectly. Every time we watch him play, he continues to improve. His work ethic will help him fit right along side some other outstanding guards in our program. We are looking forward to him enjoying his senior year and then making the short trip up the mountain to get to work for the 18-19 season.
