Men's Basketball to Host Warren Wilson in Exhibition

BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State men's basketball will host Warren Wilson College in its lone exhibition of the season on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Center.

Scouting the Mountaineers
  • Appalachian State welcomes back 12 players from last season's squad that made its first appearance in the Sun Belt Tournament.
  • Of the 12 returners, App State sees three starters back in senior Griffin Kinney, junior Tyrell Johnson and junior Ronshad Shabazz.
  • Kinney posted his strongest season as a member of the Black and Gold in 2016-17, averaging career-highs in points (9.8), rebounds (6.3) and field goal percentage (51.5 percent).
  • Tyrell Johnson averaged a career-high 7.5 points last season and also led the team with 33 blocks.

  • Jordan Gant finished with 19 points and five steals in 29 minutes, while Marques Sullivan added 18 points, five rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes.
