Wrestling Heads to Philly for Keystone Classic

BOONE, N.C. — Members of Appalachian State's wrestling team will compete Sunday at the annual Keystone Classic in Philadelphia.

Hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at The Palestra, the event will begin at 10 a.m. and likely run for about eight hours.

Last year, the Mountaineers finished fourth in team points with 95.5 thanks to two finals appearances and five semifinal appearances, including one by current senior Forrest Przybysz at 165 pounds. Now competing at 174 pounds, he is the reigning Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week following a 2-0 performance that included a pin against SoCon foe Davidson at the Mountaineer Duals.

Last weekend, App State also got two dominant performances apiece at 149 (Gavin Londoff), 157 (Laken Cook) and 165 (Thomas Flitz). Londoff and Cook each had a pair of major decisions. Flitz won by a major decision and technical fall.

Matt Zovistoski, an App State team member who is participating in tournaments this season as an unattached wrestler, is one of 20 ranked entries this weekend. He is ranked No. 16 nationally at 149 pounds.

Recap and results will be made available after the conclusion of the tournament.
