About the Mountaineers
The Mountaineers are coming off a 0-0 tie in their Sun Belt opener on Saturday at Howard. Appalachian notched its first clean sheet on the road over the Bison, collected its second-straight shutout and third in the past five matches. The Black and Gold have allowed just two scores in the previous five games (8 prior five contests). App State has allowed only three goals in five home matches while the Mountaineers have not allowed a home goal since a score against ETSU on Sept. 9. App State is second in the Sun Belt in goals allowed at 12, goals against average at 1.021 and goals allowed per game at 1.09. On the other hand, Appalachian is looking for a spark from its offense, as it has scored just one goal in the last four matches. The Mountaineers aim to get back on track offensively, as they have scored one goal. They'll have the perfect opportunity on Tuesday as the Bulldogs are allowing 2.75 goals per contest and have given up at least three goals in five-consecutive matches.

Scouting UNC Asheville
The Bulldogs are on a five-match skid after capturing their first win against Wofford, 2-0. UNCA hasn't scored a goal since the triumph on Sept. 16, and have yet to win a road match with a 0-8 record. Five different Bulldogs have scored a goal while Tyler Moore has started in eight of the contests between the posts.

Series History
Appalachian has the upper hand in the all-time series with a 21-11-3 mark, including a 2-1 triumph last season. App State is 9-3-1 over the previous 13 matchups and is 6-0-1 in the past seven contests.
