BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State volleyball has a pair of home matches this weekend on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. Senior Day will take place on Sunday to celebrate four players and one student assistant coach.
Coming off of a win at UL Monroe, the Mountaineers look to continue SBC play with two more wins this weekend against the South Alabama Jaguars on Friday and the Troy Trojans on Sunday.
Melissa McMath broke 300 season kills with 302 thus far.
Ashlyn Brown is close to breaking 1,000 assists on the season with 970 currently.
Olivia Loeffler helps the defense with 411 digs, and
Kara Spicer has blocked at the net for a total of 65 times.

Scouting the Jaguars
South Alabama leads the East Division of the Sun Belt with an overall conference record of 9-1 this season. The only team to defeat the Jaguars thus far in the 2017 season is Arkansas State. South Alabama has an all-time series record of 4-3 with the Mountaineers.
Kelley Hartman is at the top of the leaderboard in kills for South Alabama with 185. Iva Durdanovic follows with 178. Ashlyn Roberts and Parker Harrell have 319 and 264 assists respectively on the season. Abby Baker has 289 digs, more than any other Jaguar on the team.
Scouting the Trojans
Troy is 3-7 in SBC matches, tied with both App State and Georgia Southern in record. App State leads the overall series record 5-2 against Troy. The first meeting with Troy was in 2007. The Mountaineers look to defeat the Trojans to climb above them in conference rankings.
Belle Waldrop and Savannah Moore each have over 200 kills on the season for the Trojans. Kiara Barrett has three shy of 500 assists, a team leader. Savannah Moore leads with 74 total blocks at the net, and Bethany Cullity leads the defense with 258 digs.
