About the Mountaineers
Appalachian is coming off a bounce-back performance with a 1-1 draw against a strong Campbell team that came in winning its last two road matches. After facing a 1-0 deficit,
Reed Hunnicutt found a cutting
Justin Pruitt in the left side of the box before striking the ball in for the goal. It was Pruitt's first career goal in a Black and Uniform, while it marked the fifth freshman to score this season. Hunnicutt also leads the team with three helpers. He's one of two players (
Juan Hernandez) with at least one goal and multiple assists. After surrendering a season-high three goals at home against Hartwick, Appalachian gave up one score to a Campbell team that had previously notched a season-high four goals against Longwood. Making his return in the match was goalkeeper
Jake Agnew, who returned from injury to start in his first game of the season. Agnew tallied five saves in 110 minutes of action including two big saves in the first overtime that would have given the Camels a win.

Saturday's matchup will pit two of the top defenses in the Sun Belt as Georgia State (.77 GA Avg - 1st), and App State is second in the conference in goals allowed per game (1.14). Also, the Mountaineers and Panthers have two of the top goalkeepers, Yannic Horn and
