BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State volleyball is set to play in Louisiana back-to-back days this weekend on Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21.
App State will compete against Louisiana on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Overall, App State is 3-2 with Louisiana in series history. On Saturday, App State will play against UL Monroe at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Mountaineers are 3-1 in overall series history against the Warhawks of ULM with their last meeting exactly a year ago from this upcoming match.
The Mountaineers look to gain their third and fourth Sun Belt victories of the season.
Melissa McMath owns an impressive 282 kills overall.
Ashlyn Brown continues to aid the team in assists with 886.
Scouting the Ragin' Cajuns
So far this season, Louisiana is 14-8 overall. Their SBC record is 7-1 as the Mountaineers look to upset them at their home gym. Their only loss is against SBC opponent Arkansas State. This match is also their most recent.
Louisiana maintains a 7-0 win streak at home thus far. Stacey Reilly tops the leaderboard in kills with 236 so far this season, and Jessica Bartczyszyn leads the way in assists with 819. Dree'Ana Abram and Nia Antoine are strong at the net with 76 and 66 blocks respectively.
Scouting the Warhawks
The Warhawks are currently on a nine-game losing streak coming off of a loss at Little Rock. They are 4-21 overall and 0-8 in the Sun Belt. In their last SBC match, Mikaela Worley led in kills while Kacey Leblanc had nine digs, and Tara Jenkins helped the team with 16 assists.
