Zovistoski Receives Preseason National Ranking

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State junior Matt Zovistoski has earned a preseason national ranking of No. 14 at 149 pounds from InterMat Wrestling.
 
Zovistoski went 23-8 for App State last season at that weight class and qualified for the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., where he won two matches. He has a 42-22 career record.
 
Earlier this month, he won three of his five matches and placed fourth in the 70-kilogram division of the U23 World Team Trials in Rochester, Minn.
 
Coming off a second straight Southern Conference championship, Zovistoski and his teammates begin the 2017-18 season with their Black and Gold exhibition on Nov. 1 at Varsity Gym. The regular season opens with the Hokie Open in Roanoke, Va., on Nov. 5.
 
With a home schedule that includes matches against N.C. State and Duke, season tickets are available for $35 (adults) and $15 (youth) by contacting the Appalachian State ticket office at 828-262-2079, visiting appstatesports.com or going to the Appalachian State athletics ticket office located at the Holmes Center. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
 
Single-match tickets are $7 (adult) and $3 (youth), with N.C. State's visit set as a premium match with a price of $10 for adults.
