BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Appalachian State women's track & field will look for its second Sun Belt Indoor title in program history on Monday and Tuesday at the Sun Belt Championships in Birmingham, Ala. Monday's events will begin with the long jump at 1:30 p.m. EST, with running events starting at 5:15 p.m. EST with the prelims of the 800-meter run. Tuesday's events begin with the pentathlon at 10 a.m., the one-mile run at 1:30 p.m. EST and the pole vault at 2:30 p.m. EST.
LAST SEASON'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
At last year's Sun Belt Championships, App State finished sixth of 12 teams with 53.5 points. The Mountaineers saw three athletes place in the pole vault. Junior
Lainey Hunnicutt finished in a tie for fourth place, clearing 11-11.75. Junior
Hannah Emery placed and junior
Sofia San Miguel finished sixth and seventh respectively, with marks of 11-11.75.
Jessica Dixon placed fourth in the 400-meter run in 55.91 seconds and
Phylissa Greeley was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:12.97.
Samara Gibson and Dixon finished seventh and eight in the 200-meter dash in 25.00 seconds and 25.29 seconds, respectively.

Heading into the conference championship, App State owns 13 spots in the top-eight in seven events:
