WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Appalachian State Athletics held its annual Endowment Celebration on Tuesday evening at the IMG headquarters in downtown Winston-Salem.
The event was organized as a celebration and show of appreciation for all donors to the Appalachian State athletics' endowment fund. There are currently more than 100 endowments established to support Appalachian State athletics' scholarships and programs.
During the event, '85 alumna Shannon Neal gave passionate remarks on why he and his wife Dona support App State Athletics. Along with his remarks, two current student-athletes spoke on their experiences and gratitude for the support of the Yosef Club and all donors.
Ashley Muschiatti, a senior thrower on the track and field team, shared how her time at App State has allowed her to pursue three degrees, study abroad and compete at the collegiate level.
Thomas Hennigan, a rising sophomore on the football team, shared his journey on how he became a starting wide receiver as a true freshman.
A Mountaineer Impact, A Drive For Excellence is a vision of Appalachian State Athletics to provide resources for identified funding needs of more than $60 million. Comprehensive in nature, the initiative is designed to impact every Mountaineer student-athlete and sports program.
