JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Appalachian State University women's tennis (10-10) suffered a 5-2 decision to conclude the regular season at ETSU (11-10) on Saturday afternoon in Johnson City, Tenn.
The Mountaineers have been successful in doubles, but the Bucs claimed the doubles point while claiming three of the five singles matches.Â
María José Zacarias earned a win in singles competition for her 10th win of the season.
Sandra AnglesjöÂ notched her second singles triumph of the season, as both victories in singles highlighted App's afternoon. AnglesjöÂ has won her last two singles contests after starting 0-2 on the season.Â
Two of three matches that ETSU claimed in doubles play were by two points. Gaskins and
Sandra Anglesjö fell to Alejandra Morales/A. Pascual-Larrinaga in a 7-5 setback, while Alory Pereira/Ioanna Markesini dealt
Heidi Swope and Zacarias a tight-knit setback by two points, 7-5.Â
The Apps looked to turn the momentum around, but ETSU already had ended up with three of the first four finished contests.
App State will await its Sun Belt Tournament opponent, which will take place in Peachtree City, Ga. this week.Â
