Men's Tennis Concludes Bash at the Beach

CONWAY, S.C.  - Appalachian State University men's tennis concluded the three-day Bash at the Beach hosted by Coastal Carolina over the weekend. 

The Mountaineers would face two of their Sun Belt opponents in Coastal Carolina and archrival, Georgia Southern while matching up with Presbyterian on Saturday. Appalachian captured 15 wins over the weekend with a mix of its youth and experience. 

Ben Webster and Milo Bargeron both picked up straight-set victories over their CCU counterparts before Blake Carter fought back from one set down to collect the three-set win over Gamero, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5. In doubles play, the freshman tandem of Webster and Spencer Brown registered the lone win on day one over Talik/Achonda, 8-6. 

On day two, App State stepped up its play recording seven of eight singles matches and two of three doubles contests. Webster, Bargeron, and Brown continued their solid weekend with wins, while Alex Pavkovich and Alex Brea dealt the Blue Hose a pair of setbacks during singles action. Cole Heller ended the singles portion with a win of his own, adding to the already improved performance after Friday. Bargeron and Pavkovich teamed up for an impressive win before Webster and Brown won their second match of the weekend. 

Brown ended his weekend on a high note with another victory in singles action, while Campbell Stone tallied his second singles notch of the weekend. 

Appalachian will continue the fall from October 11-15 when it heads to Cary, N.C. for the ITA Regionals.
